The Hammond Museum of Radio got its start when museum founder Fred Hammond began collecting early radio and wireless artefacts at the age of 16.  The museum is now home to hundreds of radios and transmitters dating from the telegraph and spark eras up to today's transistor and solid state era.  There is also a fully operational amateur radio station (VE3HC) from which radio contacts are made around the world with other amateur (ham) radio stations.  Over the years the Museum has evolved to become one of North America’s premier wireless museums.
