The International Institute For Critical Studies In Improvisation (IICSI)

IF 2023 is a 24-hour in-person and online celebration of improvised arts at the University of Guelph on Oct. 20–21 featuring music, dance, theatre, and more. Internationally acclaimed acts include Vijay Iyer and Wadada Leo Smith: A Cosmic Rhythm with Each Stroke, Mali Obomsawin 4tet, Douglas R. Ewart and Jesse Stewart, Judith Thompson with trumpeter jashen edwards, Truth Is… with Marshall Trammell, Dancetheatre David Earle, Marianne Trudel and John Hollenbeck, and much more, including installations and special livestreamed performances from partners around the globe including the Sonic Arts Research Centre (N. Ireland), Nusica.org (Italy), and Lasalle College of the Arts (Singapore).
