Calling all young artists and families! We’re back this August for another Family Art Walk with artists and educators Emilie McNamara and Alexa Collette. Spend an afternoon exploring the ruins in John Galt Park, the banks of the Speed River, and the industrial structures nearby. Learn something new about the natural world in your own community, discover the stories of the Speed River, explore the interconnectedness between past industrial sites and natural waterways, and celebrate your creativity at each stop with gently guided hands-on artmaking projects to create layered drawings inspired by the large scale drawings by Alison Norlen, now on view at the gallery in her exhibition, Armatures and Imaginaries. This program is designed for kids aged 5 to 10 with their caregiver, though all ages are welcome. Please note: children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. All materials are provided; no experience necessary. Registration is required for both children and adults as space is limited.
